AI Hook: Open Strong, Keep Viewers to the End

AI Hook opens each clip with the peak moment, then loops back to show the build-up. Works on uploads and YouTube links.

A clip that starts with the build-up loses viewers in the first second. They scroll before the action hits. AI Hook fixes that by opening with your peak moment, then looping back to show how you got there.

What AI Hook does

AI Hook cuts each clip into two parts: the hook (up to 5 seconds of the best moment) and the main clip (the full moment from the build-up). The hook plays first, then a quick transition takes the viewer back to see the whole thing.

The AI picks the hook by what happens: the explosion with its build-up, the streamer's reaction, or a full spoken line. It never cuts mid-word. If the AI finds no clear peak, the clip stays normal.

AI Hook works in AI Gaming and AI Creator modes, on uploaded videos and YouTube links.

Turn on AI Hook

  1. Go to ViceForge upload.
  2. Pick AI Gaming or AI Creator.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the upload settings.
  4. Turn on AI Hook.

AI Hook is off by default. It is only on Creator Elite, including Lifetime Elite.

Hook text on screen

The AI writes a short line about the moment and shows it on screen over the hook. When it has nothing to write, it says "Wait for it...". The line is up to 80 characters.

Turn on Show hook text in the upload settings. You can edit the text per clip in the editor after the clips are ready.

Add a transition card

Between the hook and the main clip, you can add a card that says "A few moments later...". A narrator reads it out.

Turn on the card in the hook options at upload, or per clip in the editor. The card is 2 seconds by default. You can:

  • Write your own text (up to 40 characters, for example "Two hours later...").
  • Turn the narrator off.
  • Pick a length from 1 to 4 seconds.
  • Choose a black background or a blurred still of the hook's last frame.

Adjust the hook in the editor

The hook and the main part each have their own start and end. You can adjust them in 0.1 second and 1 second steps.

If the AI picked the wrong moment for the hook, move the start and end to a better part. If the hook is too long or too short, trim it. The main clip's timing is separate, so changing the hook does not break the rest of the clip.

Re-editing a clip with a hook keeps the original resolution and follows your facecam in vertical format.

When to use AI Hook

AI Hook works best when:

  • The clip has a clear peak: a kill, a crash, a punchline, a big reaction.
  • The build-up matters. If the moment is already instant (a one-second explosion with no lead-in), a hook adds nothing.
  • You want to stop the scroll. Vertical clips on TikTok, Reels and Shorts lose viewers fast. A hook gives them a reason to stay.

For talk and podcast clips, combine AI Hook with AI Reads Speech. The AI listens to what you say and picks the funniest or strongest line for the hook.

Quick checklist

  • Turn on AI Hook in the upload settings (Creator Elite only).
  • Turn on Show hook text if you want a line on screen.
  • Add a transition card if it fits your style.
  • After the clips are ready, check the hook timing in the editor.
  • Adjust the hook start and end if the AI picked the wrong moment.
  • Edit the hook text if the AI's line does not match your tone.

Use AI Hook with your VODs

Download your Twitch VOD before it expires (7, 14 or 60 days depending on your account). Upload it to ViceForge, turn on AI Hook, and get clips that open strong. Download and upload the VOD the same night you stream, so the clips are ready in the morning.

For YouTube live, use Stream Clipper (Creator Elite, YouTube live only) to cut clips during the stream, then turn on AI Hook when you upload the VOD later.
