A clip that opens with its best moment hooks viewers in the first second. AI Hook cuts your peak moment first, then flows into the full story so viewers stay to the end. You adjust the hook timing and on-screen text in the editor to match your style.

What AI Hook does

AI Hook is a cold open for your clips. Each clip starts with its peak moment, up to 5 seconds, cut by what happens: the whole explosion or crash with its build-up, the streamer's reaction, or a full spoken line. Then a quick transition flows into the full moment from the build-up.

If the AI finds no clear peak, the clip stays a normal clip.

Turn on AI Hook

Turn on AI Hook per video.

  1. Go to ViceForge upload.
  2. Pick AI Gaming or AI Creator.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the settings.
  4. Turn on AI Hook.

AI Hook works on uploaded videos and on YouTube links. It is only on Creator Elite, including Lifetime Elite.

Hook text and transition card

Two optional settings appear when AI Hook is on:

  • Show hook text: a short line shown on screen over the hook. The AI writes a line about the moment or "Wait for it..." when it has none. Up to 80 characters. You can edit it per clip in the editor.
  • "A few moments later" card: a card between the hook and the rest of the clip. By default a 2 second black card with the text "A few moments later..." read by a narrator. You can write your own card text (up to 40 characters, for example "Two hours later..."), turn the narrator off, pick a length from 1 to 4 seconds, and choose a black background or a blurred still of the hook's last frame.

Turn them on in the upload settings or per clip in the editor.

Adjust the hook in the editor

When the clips are ready, open a clip in the editor. The hook and the main part each have their own start and end, adjustable in 0.1 second and 1 second steps.

  • Move the hook start or end to change what the cold open shows.
  • Move the main part start to change where the full story begins.
  • Edit the hook text or turn it off.
  • Change the transition card text, length, background or narrator.

Re-editing a clip with a hook keeps the original resolution and follows the streamer's facecam in vertical format.

When to use AI Hook

AI Hook works best when your clip has a clear peak: a kill, a crash, a big reaction, a funny line. It keeps viewers watching because they see the payoff first, then want to know how you got there.

Use it for:

  • Gaming clips with action, kills, chases or crashes.
  • Talk and podcast clips with a strong statement, joke or reaction.
  • IRL clips with a surprise or a moment that builds.

Skip it for clips that are already short or clips where the build-up is the whole point.

Quick checklist

  • Creator Elite plan active.
  • AI Hook turned on in upload settings.
  • Hook text and transition card set to your style.
  • Clips generated.
  • Hook timing adjusted in the editor.
  • Hook text edited or turned off per clip.

AI Hook and AI Reads Speech together

AI Hook works in both AI Gaming and AI Creator modes. If you also turn on AI Reads Speech, the AI listens to what is said and uses funny lines, quotes and reactions to pick better moments. Then AI Hook cuts the best spoken line as the cold open.

AI Reads Speech is on Creator Pro and Creator Elite. Lifetime plans get up to 150 minutes of video per month. Both features use the same monthly video minutes (300 minutes per month on Creator Pro, 600 minutes per month on Creator Elite).
